Trinity Church hosts October music presentations and movie night

Trinity Episcopal Church in Wrentham will host two presentations on Benjamin Britten's "War Requiem" and a Halloween movie night in October. The public is invited to attend.

Music Director Rick Duthe will present an overview of "War Requiem" on consecutive Sundays, Oct. 11 and 18, at 2 p.m. in the parish hall at 47 East St. The work was composed for the 1962 consecration of Coventry Cathedral, which was nearly destroyed during World War II. The first session will cover the cathedral and the music; the second will include a listening session featuring the entire work.

Duthe is a graduate of New England Conservatory of Music and has been Trinity's music director since 2015. There is no charge for the presentations, though donations to the church's music program are welcome.

The church will also show "Bell, Book and Candle" on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. Attendees may dress up for the Halloween event if they wish. Refreshments will be served. Donations are welcome but not required.

For reservations, call the church office at 508-384-3958 during office hours, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reservations for the "War Requiem" presentations may also be made by emailing [email protected].
