Norfolk Lions Haunted Train Ride set for October 17
The Norfolk Lions Haunted Train Ride will take place on Saturday, October 17 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Holmes Bus Company on Myrtle Street in Norfolk.
Tickets go on sale September 15 at 5 p.m. on the Norfolk Lions website at norfolkmalions.org and are $10 each. No tickets will be sold at the event, and event goers must have a ticket to enter the parking lot.
The event is geared toward kids from kindergarten through middle school. Ticket holders get a train ride through a haunted wood. As the evening gets darker, the ride gets scarier! Wear a costume and bring your appetite - hot dogs, grilled cheese, and baked goods will be sold.
Ticket proceeds will go to worthy Norfolk causes through distributions by Norfolk Lions. Organizers will try to keep the event running during inclement weather, but it is not possible to coordinate the numerous volunteers and donations necessary for a rain date. Tickets are a donation and non-refundable.
Community groups interested in participating in the event are welcome. Teen volunteers are also welcome, and participation can usually be used to fulfill community service hours.
