Norfolk Public Library offers full slate of August programs

The Norfolk Public Library has a busy lineup of programs for all ages this month.

Children can kick off the month on Aug. 3 by meeting some "Not Really So Scary Animals" with naturalist Joy Marzolf, followed by a Magical Plants Workshop exploring "Sometimes Hazardous Herbs." Bubble Parties on Aug. 4 and Aug. 11, weekly Baby Time and Toddler Storytime sessions, Lego Builders, Paws to Read, Family Movies, and Multiage Storytimes round out the month's youth programming.

Families can also enjoy the weeklong JAWsome Shark Scavenger Hunt beginning Aug. 17.

Teens and tweens can create succulent crafts on Aug. 3, while adults have opportunities to connect through the library's Watercolor Meet Ups, Fiber Art Group, Crokinole Club, Moms Off Duty Book Club, and No Fail Crafts for Adults, scheduled throughout the month.

Several virtual author and educational presentations are also scheduled, including The Legacy of Julia Child's Kitchen with Smithsonian curator Paula J. Johnson on Aug. 4, When Trees Testify: Science, Wisdom, History, and America's Black Botanical Legacy on Aug. 25, and a mystery-themed presentation with author Lucy Foley on Aug. 27.

Other highlights include a Craft Supply Swap on Aug. 6, a Meditation Session on Aug. 12, Paint Your Home Night for adults on Aug. 13, Artist Hour: Learn to Create Japanese Watercolor on Aug. 27, and Tech 911 assistance on Aug. 28.

The library will also host Town Administrator Time on Aug. 14 and the Norfolk Memory Café on Aug. 26.
