Two King Philip Regional High School students have been awarded scholarships through the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPAs) Educational Foundation's 2026 Scholarship Program.

Mya McCormick of Wrentham and Lauren Obara of Norfolk each received the Emerging Scholar Award and were among 50 students statewide selected for scholarships this year. Recipients were recognized at MassCPAs' annual Connect 2026 networking event on May 13.

"It's truly inspiring to see the talent and drive of this year's scholarship winners," said Zach Donah, president and CEO of MassCPAs. "Their commitment to excellence gives us great confidence that the accounting profession in Massachusetts will continue to thrive under their leadership."

The scholarship program is funded entirely through donations to the MassCPAs Educational Foundation, whose mission is to support and inspire the next generation of certified public accountants in Massachusetts. Since its inception in 2006, the foundation has awarded more than 500 scholarships totaling over $2.25 million.

"Empowering students through these scholarships is at the heart of our mission to build a robust and resilient accounting workforce," said Allie Orlando, MassCPAs' director of academic and career development. "We are thrilled to celebrate this year's recipients and look forward to seeing the significant contributions they will make to the profession."

MassCPAs represents more than 11,500 certified public accountants working in public accounting, business, government and education across Massachusetts.
