Norfolk County real estate activity up in April

Real estate activity in Norfolk County increased in April, according to data released by the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds.

The Registry recorded 9,468 documents in April, up 9% from the 8,671 recorded in April 2025 and 7% higher than March.

A total of 1,424 deeds were recorded, an 8% increase from April 2025. Of those, 688 were property sales, up 11% year over year and 40% higher than March.

Mortgage activity also rose, with 1,640 mortgages recorded in April, a 14% increase from the same month last year, though down 2% from March.

The average sale price for commercial and residential properties was approximately $1.15 million, down 17% from April 2025 and 9% from March.

Foreclosure activity remained relatively low. Five foreclosure deeds were recorded in April, down from six a year earlier, while notices to foreclose increased from 20 to 23.

“April 2026 demonstrated robust real estate activity,” Norfolk County Register of Deeds William P. O’Donnell said in the release.
