Special June events at Norfolk Senior Center

The Norfolk Senior Center has a full slate of June programs, including lectures, music, crafts and special events.

Highlights include the Passing of the Town Cane ceremony honoring Norfolk’s oldest resident, Raymond V. “Bucky” Calleaux, on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 a.m.; a Massachusetts Bar Association Elder Law program on Friday, June 5, at 1 p.m.; and a World Cup-themed lecture exploring the history and cultural significance of soccer’s biggest tournament on Thursday, June 11, at 1 p.m.

Other featured events include a virtual D-Day commemoration on Monday, June 15, at 11 a.m.; a Father’s Day ice cream social on Tuesday, June 16, at 12:30 p.m.; a meet-and-greet with Norfolk Building Commissioner David Kulikowski on Thursday, June 18, at 1 p.m.; and a historical presentation, “Abigail Takes You From Revolution to Declaration,” on Wednesday, June 24, at 1 p.m.

Creative and entertainment offerings include a drumming circle on June 9; music performances by Jonathan Keezing (June 10), The Rob Show (June 23), and Tom Cleverdon and grandson Liam (June 25); plus a Titanic-themed presentation on June 30.

Recurring offerings include exercise classes, card games, art programs, wellness services, veterans and social groups, weekly lunches, and transportation services. The center also offers several trips in June, including visits to the Attleboro Garden Tour, Capron Zoo, and New Pond Village.
