The Fiske Public Library will be closed Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The library is closed Saturdays in July and August.

Summer Reading, themed “Plant a Seed, Read!,” begins Monday, June 22, and runs for eight weeks for children and teens up to age 18.

Children’s programming includes Mother Goose on the Loose for ages birth to 3 on Tuesdays, June 2, 9 and 30; Preschool Storytime on Thursdays, June 4 and 11; Baby/Toddler Playgroup on Friday, June 5; Monday Crafternoon on June 1 and 15; and Read to Sophie the therapy dog on Saturday, June 6.

Special youth events include a book bedazzling program for ages 11-18 on June 11; a butterfly exhibit with Winterberry Homestead on June 23; Birds of Prey with Wingmasters on June 24; a family movie on June 26; Book Bingo on June 27; and an Egg Drop Challenge on June 29.

Teens entering grades 7-12 may apply for summer volunteer opportunities at the library.

The library is also participating in a regional Soccer Gnome Hunt from June 1-30 with neighboring libraries.

Adult offerings include weekly free IT help on Tuesdays; monthly spice kits and take-and-make craft kits; a three-week Learn to Sew series beginning June 10; book bedazzling for adults on June 18; Wine Bottle Paint Night on June 25; and the Fiske Library Book Club on June 23.

The library also offers virtual author talks throughout the month.
