Pamela Storme named Assistant Principal at KPMS

Superintendent Dr. Rich Drolet and King Philip Regional Middle School Principal Michelle Kreuzer recently announced the appointment of Pamela Storme as a new Assistant Principal at King Philip Regional Middle School, beginning in July.

Storme brings more than 20 years of experience in public education and school leadership. For the past three years, she has served as Principal of Joseph L. McCourt Middle School in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Before that appointment, she worked for more than two years as an Assistant Principal at the same school.

Earlier in her career, Storme spent 16 years in the Portsmouth, Rhode Island School District. During that time, she served as Assistant Principal for three years and previously worked as a health, physical education and adaptive physical education teacher.

Throughout her career, Storme has focused on strengthening instruction, supporting student success and building strong family and community partnerships. While serving as Principal at McCourt Middle School, the school saw measurable academic improvement, including double-digit growth in English Language Arts on Rhode Island’s RICAS assessment. She also led initiatives aimed at improving student attendance, strengthening school climate and culture and expanding opportunities for student leadership and engagement.

Storme has experience leading professional learning communities, supporting special education programming and supervising and evaluating staff. She has also overseen school operations, safety procedures and budgeting, while working closely with families and community partners to support students.

Storme will join Jay Donovan as one of the two assistant principals at King Philip Regional Middle School, working alongside longtime Principal Kreuzer.

Storme was selected following a search process that drew 31 applicants. An 11-member screening committee made up of administrators, teachers, counselors, a teacher assistant and support staff participated in the initial review and interviews. The process included a screening interview, a school-day interview at King Philip Regional Middle School and a final interview with the Superintendent.

Storme earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education and health education from Rhode Island College and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University.

She lives in Rhode Island with her husband and two children. She has also coached soccer, softball and baseball and has served as president of her community’s local Little League organization
