LiveARTS String Quartet to Perform at Franklin Historical Museum

The Franklin-based LiveARTS String Quartet will perform on Sunday, May 17, at 3 p.m. at the Franklin Historical Museum, 80 West Central St.

The program will include works by Haydn, Mendelssohn and Schumann. Tickets are available at liveartsstringquartet.org.

Founded in 2009 by violist Donald Krishnaswami, the quartet features Gregory Vitale and Katherine Winterstein on violin, Krishnaswami on viola, and Jan Müller-Szeraws on cello. The ensemble is funded in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, as well as donations from individuals and local businesses.

The group originated from Franklin’s LiveARTS concert series and served as its string quartet-in-residence from 2009 until the organization’s dissolution in 2025. Now operating independently, the quartet is working to present a regular season of performances in Franklin and surrounding communities.

A sellout is anticipated, and advance ticket purchase is recommended.
