EMASS Senior Softball League Opens Player Registration for 2026 Season
Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball
Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball (EMASS) is now accepting registration for the 2026 season for men and women age 50 and older. With approximately 500 members, the league draws players from towns across Eastern Massachusetts, with games played primarily in Wayland, Medfield, Ashland, and Framingham. The season runs from late April through early October, including playoffs. Interested players can register at https://e-mass.org/current-programs.
EMASS offers six divisions that accommodate a range of skill levels. Two divisions play doubleheaders on Saturday mornings, while four play on weekday mornings. Some players continue to compete at a high level, while other divisions allow players to enjoy the game with others of similar abilities.
“We are a group of folks who recognize how lucky we are to be able to play a game we love at our current age and at a level that matches our abilities,” said EMASS Commissioner Steve Bober.
For many participants, the league offers both recreation and community. “I joined EMASS when I retired and didn’t know a single person,” said Division Coordinator Al Handel. “Six years later, the best thing about being part of this community has been the number of friends I’ve made.”
The league typically adds about 60 new players each year and reshuffles team rosters annually to encourage connections among members.
Founded in 1995, EMASS provides a safe, organized opportunity for seniors of all skill levels to play competitive slow-pitch softball. For more information, visit www.e-mass.org.
