Norfolk Public Library Logo
The Friends of the Norfolk Public Library will hold their annual Book and Bake Sale on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 at the Freeman-Kennedy School, 70 Boardman St.
A special Friends Members Preview Sale will take place on Friday, April 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. Current members are invited to shop early, and new memberships may be purchased at the door beginning at 5 p.m.
The sale will open to the general public on Saturday, April 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The popular event will feature a wide selection of gently used hardcover and paperback books, as well as CDs, DVDs, games, and puzzles. Volunteers carefully inspect all puzzles to ensure they are complete before being offered for sale.
Proceeds from the sale support a variety of programs and resources at the Norfolk Public Library. Recent contributions from the Friends include the purchase of a new self-checkout station to replace outdated equipment.
Community members interested in supporting the sale can donate items in good condition. Donations may be dropped off in the Friends’ book closet during regular library hours or at the Friends’ shed at the Transfer Station, 33 Medway Branch, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
In addition to the annual sale, the Friends maintain an ongoing book sale inside the library at 2 Liberty Lane, where donated titles are available for purchase year-round.
The Friends of the Norfolk Public Library also welcome new members and volunteers. Membership information is available at the library or online at www.NorfolkMALibraryFriends.org.
The group will hold its next meeting on April 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Schoolhouse Room at the Norfolk Public Library.
