The Norfolk Public Schools is pleased to announce its annual Preschool Developmental Screening, which will be offered to Norfolk residents ages three and four. This screening, held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., is a component of the federal Child Find Mandate affiliated with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004). The goal of this process is to serve as a first step in identifying children who may meet the eligibility criteria for special education services before they enter kindergarten. 

The screening takes place at the H. Olive Day School, 232 Main Street, by appointment only. The tool used targets several developmental domains, including speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, and cognition. Please note: This is not a kindergarten readiness screening.
