The First Universalist Society in Franklin (FUSF), a Unitarian Universalist Welcoming Congregation located at 262 Chestnut Street, will host several events throughout December, offering opportunities for celebration, reflection, and community connection.

Holiday Cookie Walk – December 13

FUSF will hold its third annual Holiday Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 13 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visitors are invited to stroll through the festively decorated Meetinghouse and choose from a wide selection of homemade treats prepared by more than 30 bakers. Cookies will be sold by the pound, and containers with holiday stickers will be provided. Cash, checks, and electronic payments will be accepted. 

Blue Christmas Vesper Service – December 21

On Sunday, December 21 at 4 p.m., FUSF will offer “When the Holidays Hurt: A Blue Christmas Vesper Service,” led by Rev. Beverly Waring. This meditative service acknowledges that the holiday season can be emotionally complex and provides a supportive space for anyone experiencing personal or collective grief. All are welcome, and child care will be provided. 

New Year’s Eve Labyrinth Walk – December 31

FUSF will host its annual New Year’s Eve Labyrinth Walk on Wednesday, December 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. This free event invites participants of all ages to experience a candlelit labyrinth in the sanctuary. Finger labyrinths will be available for those with mobility challenges. Walking the 7-Circuit Petite Chartres Labyrinth typically takes about 30 minutes, and socks are required; booties will be provided for those who need to keep their shoes on.
