FUSF Welcomes Community to a New Year of Worship and Religious Education
Aug 27, 2025 10:53AM ● By Staff MemberThe First Universalist Society in Franklin (FUSF) invites the community to join in celebrating the start of a new year of Religious Education and Sunday Worship Services with Minister Rev. Bev Waring. The congregation gathers every Sunday at 10 a.m., embracing Unitarian Universalist values of Equity, Transformation, Generosity, Interdependence, Justice, Pluralism, and Love. Services are followed by coffee and conversation in the foyer.
Ingathering Sunday – September 7
The church year begins with Ingathering Sunday: Begin Again in Community. Whether attending for the first time or returning after many years, everyone is welcome. Participants are invited to bring water to share in the annual ritual of mingling and blessing the precious resource for use at child dedications, weddings, and other sacred occasions throughout the year.
Upcoming Worship Themes – September 14 to September 28
This fall, worship services will explore how religion and spirituality can ground us in changing times, with reflections on influential figures in Unitarian Universalist tradition. Sermon titles will include “Create Your Own Bible Like Jefferson Did,” “WWJD: What Would Jesus Drive,” and “One Great Bundle of Humanity.”
Specific themes and dates will be available on our website (FUSF.org) and Facebook page.
Religious Education for All Ages
FUSF offers a comprehensive Religious Education program beginning September 14. The first service of the fall is multigenerational, with nursery care available for the youngest attendees. Classes for children in Kindergarten through Grade 5 take place after 15 minutes in the sanctuary, and middle and high school youth participate in worship, help with younger children, and join youth groups outside of Sunday mornings.
All programs are grounded in UU values, and participation is open to all—no Unitarian Universalist affiliation required. For more information, contact Director of Religious Education Sara Allegretti at [email protected].
