Wrentham’s Town Hall and the town’s Building Department re-opened to the public on July 6 with restrictions in place.

During this re-opening phase, hours of operation will continue to be Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon.

“The town has taken steps to ensure both the public and town employees are safe while conducting business,” Town Administrator Kevin Sweet said in a statement. “The town would also like to encourage all residents to continue to conduct business virtually over email or the town’s official website, or over the phone, whenever possible.”

All visitors will be required to wear a face covering at all times while in a municipal building, and reminder notices will be placed at all entrance doors. The town has installed plexiglass shields at all public counters to allow for safe transactions.

Public counters will be equipped with hand sanitizer, and if visitors believe they will need to use a pen during their visit they are encouraged to bring their own.

Cleaning protocols will also be in place for all public spaces.

In keeping with the Governor’s guidelines for office space to reopen at 50% capacity, staff that are able to effectively work remotely will continue to do so until further notice. Departments will be scheduling appointments for meetings on an as-needed basis.

If a resident believes a face-to-face meeting is necessary, they are encouraged to call or email the individual department in advance.

The town of Wrentham thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as town departments transition through this public re-opening with reduced staffing.

The town of Wrentham reminds residents that should they leave their homes for any reason, they are asked to take the following steps to help prevent the transmission of respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19:

Wear a face mask or cloth face covering when social distancing is hard to maintain.

Practice social distancing at all times by remaining 6 feet away from others when you must leave your home for trips to open businesses or facilities.

Wash your hands, and clean and disinfect all high touch surfaces, such as doorknobs and countertops.

Stay home if you’re sick and avoid close contact with others.

If symptoms persist, residents are urged to get tested. If a positive test result occurs, follow 14 days of self-quarantine from the date of positive result.
