The school placed 75 out of 378 high schools in Massachusetts and received an overall score of 90.25/100. The school ranked 1,735 in the National Rankings. Overall, the school is ranked in the top 10th percentile nationally and the top 20th percentile in Massachusetts.

Ranked by 2020 U.S. News & World, the Best High Schools Report ranks nearly 18,000 high schools in the nation and provides school-specific data on enrollment, graduation rates, student body demographics, free and reduced-price lunch, location, school type and state assessment results.

King Philip High School is recognized for its excellence in preparing students for life after graduation, whether they’re entering college or the workforce.

"This ranking demonstrates the talents of our teachers and staff and their dedication to giving our students the best education possible. Without them, we wouldn't have received such a high ranking and we wouldn't be able to prepare our students as well for their futures as we do."

Schools are ranked based on six factors: college readiness, college curriculum breadth, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, underserved student performance, and graduation rate.

At King Philip High School, students can choose from over 100 courses at different levels, including 20 Advanced Placement courses. On average, 80.5% of KP students complete advanced coursework during their time in the high school.

Though King Philip's per-pupil spending remains lower compared to other high-performing districts in the area, King Philip teachers and staff continuously provide their students with a quality education and skills to prepare them for their futures.

Total in-district per pupil spending for FY2018 (the most recent year for which data is available) was $13,986.

In 2019, King Philip had a 96.8% graduation rate, and 87% of those graduates enrolled in colleges or universities. Members of the 2020 graduating class will be attending colleges including Northeastern University, Cornell University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Barnard College, Boston University, Providence College, Brigham Young University and more.

To expand on their interests outside of the classroom, students can be involved in an array of clubs and activities offered at KPHS, along with 32 varsity athletic teams, 20 junior varsity teams and nine freshman teams for a total of 61 teams representing KP in interscholastic athletics.

King Philip will have 10 graduating seniors competing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and many more competing in Divisions II and III.
